Dr. Alyssa Muia

Dr. Alyssa Muia is TPA (Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents) certified in both Ontario and the United States and is delighted to join Dr. Peaker’s Team, serving the community in her hometown! 

Dr. Alyssa Muia was born and raised in the Grimsby/Stoney Creek area and has been a longtime patient of Dr. Peaker.

She completed her Bachelor of Science at McMaster University in 2014 and went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. As part of her clinical education, she has had the opportunity to work in a variety of practice settings such as Ophthalmology Clinics, Community Health Centres, and the White River Junction Veterans’ Hospital managing ocular conditions such as cataracts, dry eyes, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

She has also received training in contact lenses, vision therapy and low vision while in New England. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
